I will begin by saying the design and engineering that went into this are impressive, and the insert is absolutely a work of art. I will also point out this insert (with shipping) actually cost me more than the game did.

With that being said, there were two things, in my case, that keep me from giving this 5 stars:

1. The insert is simply not sturdy enough. I own quite a few other inserts (both MDF and 3d printed), and this one is, by far the most brittle one. Weight might have been a consideration, but I feel the production team should have either used a stronger material, or just made the inserts slightly thicker.

2. The packaging this came in was very poor. The pieces are simply put in the shipping box with very little padding. This, combined with the brittleness I mentioned in my previous point, meant that over half of the pieces I received had to be glued back together, as they had broken in transit. A few of them had pretty much shattered, so it was quite a challenge figuring out which tiny shard belonged where.

As it stands, this is a brilliant design held back by poor production and flimsy packaging. Definitely not worth the asking price in its current state. If the creators fix these issues and come up with good solutions, then it might be justified.

I was looking for something to help me bring the game to the table and this is the perfect insert! super easy to put in and out of the box. Compact and easy to sort. Money well spent, it is worth it if you are looking to save time and keep things organize. Thank you for the amazing product!

With the Massiv Darkness 2 insert you reduce the all-in from 12 till 4-5 boxes, WOW, I am speechless!!!!
- genuis design which safely store ALL big miniature in only the dragon box expansion!
- Heroes can be sorted by name or by class for easy access. Even enemies sorted in a way that you find them fast for setup!
- all tokens divided into several little boxes which you can put out on the table ready to go.
- really neat having even flat boxes for all smaller boards which in most other inserts are lying loosely on top of the insert.
- all cards sleeved with paladin 90 mm and all fits nice even with all crossovers cards (Zombicide and MD1).
- IF you have the card organizer from the Kickstarter you could even put the 3D terrain into the insert while putting most of the MD2 cards in the Kickstarter card organizer! The 3D terrain fits best in the 5th box (Campaign box).

In Summary: A must have both for extrem fast setup and accessibility, save storage but even a big shelf-savior having only 4 instead 12 boxes!!!!

General review for product and company (having several inserts from Tinkeringpawns with common attributes):

1) SAVE shelvespace with HUGE reduction of game boxes
-> smart insert layout, mostly 50% reduction
--> outstanding compared to other inserts!!!

2) Excellent print quality, the best I have seen so far, very smooth surface.

3) Great balance between hard/flexibel material
-> normally plastic inserts are often floppy, too flexibel while wooden insert are hard but heavy making traveling/lifting difficult
--> These printed inserts are stable but put very little weight to the box!

4) NO assembly
-> most inserts needs assembly and most often gluing which takes from 60-120 min and sometimes are a pain in the a.. to assemble.
--> NOT here, these insers are ready to go

5) Very detailed and helpful instruction manual, both as pdf and video how to place it all.

6) Inserts are always multipart and can be taken out for gameplay
-> reduced downtime for game assembly

7) Some parts of the insert are "interconnected" in a smart way which gives extra stability inside the box.

8) Extreme customer friendly and reply takes only some hours if not directly.

9) Delivery extreme fast, most often faster than promised

10) Excellent packaging
-> almost every single tray/box is covered by bubble-plastic
